Internet Green Card
As a Canadian I suffer from the cultural embargo that the US has put on us and
many other countries. I’ve posted this video to show a recent way I found around it.

The most obvious is the ability to deploy flexible media that could really simplify resizing for various online ads. The Flash applet isn’t publicly available yet but check out this simple example.
Another would be a Photoshop plug-in. Even though the technology was born out of a need for the web, it could be really handy for print. Numerous times I’ve Art Directed Photo shoots to work with all the currently bought print media and then the up pops an Ad for the world skinniest banner running once in The Middle of Nowhere Post. In these cases, the amount of time retouching doesn’t always justify its limited use. This could become a really handy tool for print production studios.
Looking further ahead seam carving could be great for Video. Nowadays there are so many new media players, all with different sized screens. Right now if people want to fill those frames the video is either stretched which cause’s distortion or they use pan and scan which can be quite jarring. Seam carving could be a strong alternative as long as all Directors don’t go on strike for messing with their precious aspect ratios.
